Tuesday, September 8th, 2009: Playoff baseball generates a reaction in every fan. To the fan of the perennial loser, it's a time to moan again about their team's misfortune. To the fan whose club defines success by the number of Round 2 championship trophies lining their clubhouse walls, anything short of the ultimate victory is a disaster. This is playoff baseball. Baseball lovers can't help but be consumed by it in some way or another. There is nothing better than playoff baseball. These Round 1 battles will unfold later today:

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009: The 2009 season has come to a close and the playoffs will commence in a few days. The qualifying teams are gearing up for the so-called "second season" that determines the Southern League title. Soon there will be only two clubs left in the running, and they will be matched up in the Round 2. Then there will be only one -- the new league champions. |
