The winner of the Round 2 will be this year's champions. |  | Freeman Wins CAR Player of the Week Trophy Monday, September 7th, 2009: The Player of the Week has been announced by the Carolina League. The award went to Freddie Freeman, first baseman of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
He dominated league pitchers with a .444 average to win the honor. Freeman went 8-18 for the week, totaled 3 home runs with 5 RBIs and scored 7 times.
In the current season, Freeman has put up a .280 batting average with 143 hits, 22 home runs, 79 runs batted in and scored 87 runs. | | | | |
