| Breaking News |  | Thad Weber Out 4-5 Months Wednesday, September 9th, 2009: Dealing with injuries is part of the game and now Thad Weber of the Tigers knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Lowell Spinners while throwing a pitch. Diagnosed as ulnar nerve irritation, the Oneonta reliever is expected to miss 4-5 months. Weber was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."
This season in 42 relief appearances Weber has thrown 41.2 innings and collected no saves. His won-lost record is 1-2 with a 9.29 ERA. |  | Muckdogs MR Nieto Out Tuesday, September 8th, 2009: Batavia learned today that they will be without reliever Arquimedes Nieto for 4 months. Nieto was injured throwing a pitch and sustained a torn back muscle. He was hurt in the game against the State College Spikes.
To date this year Nieto has fashioned a 2.06 ERA over 39.1 innings with a 2-0 record. He has made 32 relief appearances with 40 strikeouts and 1 save. |  | Super Swinger -- Rosa Slams 5 Hits Tuesday, September 8th, 2009: Jovan Rosa had an answer for everything the Lowell Spinners threw him today in the Tri-City 21-6 triumph at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Tri-City first baseman went 5 for 6 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Rosa said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
J. Rosa flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a three-run double in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
