Coronado Bangs 3 HR Against Fresno State
Wednesday, September 9th, 2009: Fresno State won't soon forget the display of raw power put on today by Ricardo Coronado of the New Mexico Lobos. He victimized the Bulldogs by pounding three pitches out of Lobos Park. The homers sparked his club to a 12-3 win and got him a spot in the league record book.

"I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," Coronado told reporters. "Today I was in a groove... tomorrow I could just pop up the same pitches and go oh-for-three."

In addition to the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs.

R. Coronado struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off A. Martínez in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off J. Ward in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off G. Cochran in the 8th.

Thus far this season in 20 games Coronado is batting .345 with 9 home runs, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 55 at-bats.
National Collegiate Athletic Association Selects Best Performer
Monday, September 7th, 2009: The #1 hitter in the National Collegiate Athletic Association was Cal State Fullerton right fielder John Wiggins. He was selected the Player of the Week.

During the week Wiggins banged out a .500 batting average (13-26), 6 home runs, 15 runs batted in and scored 8 runs.

This year Wiggins is batting .413 with 15 home runs.
White Crushes 3 Homers Against Arizona
Saturday, September 5th, 2009: Arizona knocked off Montana 40-8 in spite of a fantastic home run display by Earl White, the Grizzlies center fielder. White drilled three home runs out of the park, but couldn't bring home the victory.

Afterward he turned philosophical.
"It's like going to the prom with the prettiest girl in school, having a great time, but then not getting a good night kiss."

It really wasn't such a bad day. White finished the day with 3 hits, 7 RBI and 3 runs scored. His batting average went up a little bit, too.

White is currently batting .453 with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs.
